Fenwick Model The Way Analysis

Fenwick; thank you for your post, it was enjoyable to read, and most enlightening. It is one’s opinion that it is true as you stated the most important leading any Christian can do involves leading someone to Christ. In addition, one would concur that three most important aspects of the Christian life are Bible study, prayer, and soul winning; with soul winning the most need in the leadership challenge. A leader must openly witness for the Lord before he is formally employed by the Church, he will not be much of soul-winner afterwards (Frank Damazio 1987, 113).

Model the Way
This reader understood when you stated, teachers, pastors, and officers, must display a behavior that they expect of others. Also, they must realize that humbleness and obedience to God is a must as well. Being a verbal witness while spreading the gospel, is a familiar method of evangelizing however not many Christians in one’s church community revert to the method of distribution of literature. Having a godly lifestyle is a must for all Christians and should be understood as well as expected.

It is this reader’s opinion, not only “Personal evangelizers” as you stated, should provoke one another, however all Christians (trained and equipped) should evangelize and provoke one another unto love and to good works” (Hebrews 10:24) as evangelicals who “look… to the Bible and personal experience of salvation through the sacrificial death of Christ. In the case, as you stated, where many share the value and want to witness but lack the confidence and example to follow, one must teach, train, and equip those who are capable of evangelizing right

My overall goal in life is to wake up every morning and not dread going to work. I want to be able to face a new challenge, help others, and make a difference no matter how big or small. I want to take pride into what I do and not just think of my job as an action to survive. I believe it is difficult to do so in a scene where a good handful of people do not give you the full respect deserved. In the article “Congregation Gone Wild”, G. Jeffrey MacDonald claims that Congregations have shifted their way of approaching their audience in order to “sooth” churchgoers and keep them on their side.…

Introduction William Willimon states in Calling and Character: Virtues of the Ordained Life: “this character, the cross, indelibly determines our character” (2000, p. 35). He connects how both the calling of the ordained and her/his character connect. Willimon addresses several things that I personally found beneficial as someone who is going into Christian Ministry. For example, he clearly addresses the need for unity between the professional and private life of a pastor. His goal is to inform those who are going to join or are already part of ordained life.…

After rereading Tina Housers’ book and identified which principles were my strengths and my weaknesses, I took the time to carefully think over and pray about these four principles. The principles in the book that I found to be strengths of mine included: laughs and participates as a team player. The two principles I found in the book that I need to improve on were; pointing others to Jesus and administrates meetings efficiently. The first strength that I believe will help me once I begin my ministry is laughs. This is strength of mine because I work best whenever I am able to do work but have fun doing it at the same time.…

Scripture is full of different qualities that a leader should possess but there are a few in particular that stick out. A Christian leader is someone who is imitable and who's actions deserve to be imitated. In 1 Corinthians 4:16 it states, "Therefore I urge you to imitate me," (New International Version 1984) and this leads you to believe that a leader should always live an imitable life. Christian leaders also have integrity. They can be trusted and expected to be honest.…

The term evangelism has a lot of stigmas attached to it. Some people (some believers (not all)) see it as a great and very necessary thing that we all are called to practice and do everyday. While other people (non-believers and believers alike) view evangelism as street preachers telling passerby that they are heathens and they are going to hell if they don’t get Jesus. When it comes to evangelism, obviously you want to do the first one and not the second. But how do you properly do it?…

In order to be a devout believer, I must become infatuated with the Gospel and pursue Jesus fervently. I must physically display Christ’s love to my patients, my instructors, and my classmates. As a team member of Student Center Activities Board (SCAB) that works for Student Life Programs here at Cedarville, I will strive to physically display Christ’s love and grace to both unbelievers and believers through my conversations with them. I need to become more like Christ and be sensitive to Christ trying to mold me in order to grow in this…

True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…

I find the strengths of friendship evangelism far outweigh the weaknesses. It is important to me that I use the method of evangelism most often demonstrated by Jesus and His disciples. I like that friendship evangelism is not confrontational, and also very flexible with its methodology without compromising the gospel message. This style of evangelism has worked best for me in most of my experiences because I’m confident in my ability to turn conversations around to discuss spiritual matters. “There are a plethora of ways to engage in conversational evangelism.” (Rothra,…

Evangelism in the Christian faith can’t be justified. Forcing another person to follow your faith because you believe their faith isn't the right one. Religion shouldn’t be forced onto people because that isn’t the correct way to inform people. Similar to when the government would force the peasants into one religion into another isn’t a correct method. A person can share aspects of their religion and practices with people, therefore, they can help evangelize more people into their faith.…

All Christians should do this; in Matthew 28:19 (ESV) before his ascension to heaven, Christ commanded Christians to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” According to Gass and Seiter (2014), interpersonal communication is the most effective form of communication, so Christians should go out and form relationships if they want others to listen to what they have to say (p. 11). In Galatians 5:13-14, Paul instructed Christians on how to do this: “… Through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” Through loving and serving their neighbors, Christians can gain a strong influence in their lives.…

There are many problems with today’s preaching and Pasquarello in his book Sacred Rhetoric: Preaching as a Theological and Pastoral Practice of the Church examines how this can be fixed (vii). Preachers need to go back to the foundations of good preaching exemplified in those preachers of the past who practiced “doctrine, biblical exegesis, worship, spirituality and the moral life, and so forth” (vii). This book review will examine selected preachers that Pasquarello presents, with an emphasis on the importance of preaching through the ministry of God’s Word. Summary…

As leaders working in God’s ministries, we have to be careful not to lose sight in God’s goals. I have been able to see how some pastors have become so self-center that they no longer spend time with their congregation after the service. As soon as their service is over, they go back to their office and hide until the church is already empty. After reading Tripp books and putting together what the Bible teaches, these individuals need to understand better what Jesus did while he was on earth. Jesus always demonstrated and showed love to others, therefore, is our duty to teach the word of God to everyone and love each other.…

However followers and leaders should share a mutualistic relationship where all members work together to play their individual part. I learned that there are many different types of followers and the best followers seem to be emerging leaders. While these followers may have learned these abilities by their self the leader should use their transformational leadership skills to foster the follower and enhance abilities to possibly one day take the leaders spot. This way not only can he or she play the role of a follower especially well they can also step up and be the leader if need be. I think that shows how the different types of leaderships are entangled.…
