Many people question what it takes to get into a career or what you need. Sometimes when you're not sure about what career path you want to take you want to do a little searching. At times when we're doing this we don't even know exactly what type of question to ask. Everything depends on the career you want to take. For example, if you are looking into the law enforcement field you could ask where did all the laws come from? How did we come up with a policing system? Or when was the first police department? The hiring process for a peace officer is different than the other jobs. For a peace officer you don’t just need to apply and get an interview. To be hired you need to complete a series of tests and exams. Each test or exam is designed to narrow the most qualified. The entrance exam is a written one which you are required to read and comprehend, problem-solve, memorize, and dhow your writing skills. After the written exam or entrance exam there comes a video exam. In the video exam you basically watch a scenario, after you finish watching you are asked questions that help assess the applicants’ skills on judgement. After the video exam there comes a physical/ability test. Each agency set their own requirements but the main ones are to run stair, drag weight, and/or climb walls. All agencies are different and the minimum requirements may vary. Once the Physical/ability test is finished you move on to a background investigation. The background investigation is like any other. The agency checks if you have any prior felonies, employment history, academic records, etc. The background investigation generally included a fingerprint. Now that the background test is done you go onto a drug test. After the drug test you take a psychological test. The psychological test is pretty much to ensure you are emotionally stable and fit for the job. Then to test whether the information you gave to the agency is valid you get a Polygraph. Then you get tested on your communication skills on an oral board. If you make it till the end you get a medical exam. In the medical exam they check your height, weight, vision, hearing, blood pressure, etc. When you finish all your exams and the agency revises that all the information is valid you continue in the process to be hired. Sometimes the agency maybe still asks a few question that they are doubtful
