The Bauhaus style is one of the most influential modern art movements which still has a large impact upon art and design today. The Bauhaus style was influenced by Russian constructivism and its use of simplistic images of geometric shapes and use of primary colours. The movement was also inspired by the large amount of modern technology and industrialisation of the early 1920s. This is reflexed in ‘The Manifesto of the Staatliches Bauhaus in Weimar’ which states the ideology of the Bauhaus movement. It highlights the understanding of developing the relationship between different groups of artists, designers and craftsmen alike, for example the “Architects, painters and sculptors”. It was developed as a Fujicolor Crystal Archive print. Moholy- Nagy experimented with colour photography during his later years when he lived and worked in Chicago from 1937 Moholy- Nagy opened the New Bauhaus in Chicago but it shut down in 1938, he continued and opened the School of Design also in Chicago which was successful.
Laszlo Moholy- Nagy uses aerial views to his advantage. The photo is divided up into three sections the grass area, foot path and the paved sitting area which makes line an important element in the photo. It is mainly divided diagonal. The dirt area creates the shape of a circle. The photography also creates space. The photo expresses the image in vibrant colours which is unique in Moholy- Nagy’s photos because he normally uses black and white
