5.1 Leadership style
Leadership style was identified by Kurt Lewin, who was renowned social scientist in 1939 (Encyclopedia of Management, 6th edition, p.459). Leaders need to adjust their leadership style to fit for the certain groups or environmental settings. Based on his research, he found that leadership style can be classified into three categories, which is authoritarian leadership style, democratic leadership style and laissez-faire leadership style. In concept of management, motivational is to encourage employees to perform in the best of their abilities. So, the role of the leader is to find out their interest from their performance of the job.
