The person who I admire and believe to be an effective leader is Mark Zuckerberg. Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born in White Plains, New York on May 14, 1984. He is the co-founder of Facebook, a Computer Programmer, and an Internet Entrepreneur. He designed Facebook in his dorm room while attending Harvard University. During his sophomore year he decided to drop out of college so that he can solely focus on his project of launching which is now known as the social networking site called Facebook (Wikipedia.com, May 14, 2016). His ability to apply his knowledge, skills, sensitivity, and values allows him to develop an understanding so that individuals and the organization can be effective. Furthermore, these abilities that he uses in different situations influences his behavior choices. I believe that his predisposition for leadership communication is low in communication apprehension because he is a great communicator and speaker. He also involves his followers in his decision making. Mark Zuckerberg knows that he is unable to reach his goal of an open world mission by himself so he involves people who share the same vision as he

There are tons of indispensable qualities of being a leader with a lot of people. People demonstrate these qualities by helping others in harsh conditions and starting a movement that will help change things to become better. People such as Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman have both played a role against slavery in society. Harriet Tubman was a strong leader who did not give up to accomplish a goal. A leader is someone who leads a group, while an effective leader is someone who not only leads, but also listens. To me, the Rabbi at my synagogue, Rabbi Mark, is an effective leader. During a sermon at Yom Kippur services, Rabbi Mark stated, “Sometimes we need to stop and listen to what others have to say.” Even if we disagree with a person or we are in a hurry, it still important to stop and listen to others perspectives. Once we learn about others perspectives we can truly show compassion for others and become effective leaders.…

Effective leaders come from all sizes, colors and religions. There are countless qualities that build an impressive leader. The two that are crucial, in my opnion, are effective communication and respect. Displaying these and other qualities is important and doing so has impacted my life as well as the lives of the people around me. Effective communication is a key component of leadership because many problems arise from substandard communication skills and when appropriate commendation is handed out it is more likely that the entire group will thrive.…

Leadership Kathy Dunlap Bethel University MOD 310 April 24, 2017 Kameke Payne Leadership No one theory of leadership has ever been accepted by all, but the common thought of leadership is that it is an influence process, occurs within a group, involves goals, and attainment. Some people think leaders are born with a trait that innately makes them leaders, while others theorize that it is a characteristic of an individual, but we have learned that leaders are a product of their development and life experiences. Leaders are concerned with understanding people’s beliefs and gaining their commitment. They function without focusing on the opinions of others, which allows them to think of new ideas and motivate others to develop these…

The best type of leader is a person that encourages its employees to not only benefit themselves, but to strive to be the best type of leader for their community. Most people see being a leader as a person that has a strong sense of basic organization skills and can manage multiple people, but in my opinion that is a selfish act that only helps a small portion of people. To be a successful leader is simply defined as a person the run an organization or an office, but how is that a leader? A leader should be motivating and not solely where it is convenient for making money, hence I think that being a leader should be more influential to aspects of life that are bigger than ourselves.…

Amazon did this with retail, Uber did it with taxi services, Airbnb did it with travel, Tinder did it with dating, Slack is doing it with email, Spotify is doing it with music, peer-to-peer lending is changing banking.…

However, a vision alone doesn’t make a leader; a leader must be able to turn that vision into reality. Elon Musk shared this remarkable vision, and in doing so, founded SpaceX. Elon Musk recognized that for humanity to survive it must branch out into the cosmos and create colonies on other planets. However, in the short term, Musk’s first goal with SpaceX was to reduce the cost of space travel and subsequent rocket technology. This required Musk to convince investors of his vision of the future of space travel, a no easy task. As quoted from Blazek (2016), “Dolly Singh, former HR head at SpaceX, says about Elon Musk, “The thing that makes Elon Elon is his ability to make people believe in his vision.”…
