3.1 PRORLEM: In current situation of industries , there is too much need of accuracy and efficiency of any machines or man is necessarily. Material handling is also lower speed work on this day, because of lack of proper technology and implementation. So we decided to make an analysis and research on JIB crane.
`Second problem with jib crane is there is too much electric wire and complex operating system , make high possibility of accident and electric shock and also there possibility of fire due to short circuit.
3.2 SOLUTION : One solution to make material handling process faster than previously used method is to make jib crane operating system advanced in the way of wireless technology to easily …show more content…
JIB CRANE
Cranes are very very important part of any type mechanical and civil engineering work. Different type of cranes used according to weight to be lifted and the area available for the movement at the construction site. A jib crane consists of pillar fixed to the wall or mounted on the floor. The pillar supports a horizontal jib or boom has a movable hoist. The hoist is used to lift or lower a load with the help of pulley, or lift wheel, which has a chain or rope wrapped around it. The load is lifted by the lifting hook attached to the lifting object.
The term jib crane covers mostly crane that have a rotating boom attached to a vertical pillar and supporting a hoist that operates electrically or pneumatically or hydraulically. Jib crane are not only used in construction business, but also on commercial and military ships. The most commonly used in jib crane is the self-supporting, floor mounted type jib cranes are extremely important in all kind of lifting processes because it relieves the overhead crane of much work and reduces the waiting time.
There are four main type of the jib cranes
1. Free standing jib …show more content…
Mast style jib crane
This is similar to free‐standing jib cranes but doesn’t need a special foundation making it more economical. But they do require mounting at the top and bottom as shown in figure . They also provide a full 360 degree rotation jibs depending on the manufacturer and maximum amount of lift with full use of available headroom and allows specific placement of boom to clear obstructions.
Choosing Your Jib Crane
A jib crane improves material handling efficiency and increases work flow production, so choosing the right one could be difficult. In order to choose the right jib crane, you must account for all the items below for your application.
Capacity:
The maximum weight of your application must not match or exceed the weight of your crane. When defining your capacity rating you must account for: • +15% for the weight of the hoist and trolley • +15% for the deflection of hoist and trolley • +25% capacity allowance for impact.
Degree of Rotation:
Free standing jib cranes offer up to 360° rotation and wall mounted types offer up to 180°
