Also I enjoyed the use of conflicting images of innocence of the children and the flaming building I believe the contradiction creates a big impact on the viewer. Following the path along the hallway, I entered a section of the exhibit with works from local student artists. Examples of such artists would include Shawn Eck and Logan Hart, Eck’s piece Eck De Triomphe is a cardboard sculpture of two intersecting arches of tactfully stacked cardboard boxes. Suspended by a string at the convergence of the two arches is a cardboard sphere of interconnecting triangles, creating balance between all these components. Through this I believe the artist created a balanced structure using architecture techniques, but he created it from cardboard an easily erodible material. Overall I admired most of the exhibit, I believe the professional works were very well done and thoughtfully. Conversely, compared to the younger student artists I found it difficult to find much meaning to their art, seeming random and juvenile, lacking depth or a pull on emotions. Personally I myself paint and create art, I believe it should be created to show deep emotions and meanings that words cannot convey. However this is simply my opinion and my experience when enjoying art, I believe it should be shared by all so different people may derive various meanings of a depiction themselves. Moreover, this is why I would not like to own any of these pieces so they may keep being displayed to inspire others, for example, someone else may find meaning in Hart’s Crash where I could not. Displaying the beauty of difference in opinion and feeling gives art solidarity in human hearts which is why it is survived indefinitely and served as a bridge between languages for billions of human
