Being social creatures, humans need to interact with other in order to better themselves and society. Groups of people tend to sprout out around common interests, be it sports, reading or other hobbies. Unfortunately, when I started middle school I did was not the best at making friends. I did not seem to be interested in the things that all my peers seemed to find fascinating so it was hard to find something to talk about. At the beginning of the 6th grade there was a specific incident where I tried to make a friend and what followed stuck to my mind to this very day. There was a girl named Rebecca and she was eating lunch by herself so I figured that it was a perfect opportunity to talk to her. So I came up to her and said hi and she replied back hi, then I froze. Nothing came to my mind that I could have said to catch her attention, so I just stared at her. She then asked me if I had wanted any oh her food and I stammered and said no thank you. Rebecca then proceeded to look at me with this look like if I were some crazy person. To be honest I did feel like a crazy person, making friends was something that even babies and young children can do yet it felt very foreign to me. The embarrassment that came was so thick, I could have ripped through the floor with how heavy my stomach felt at that point. I left feeling discouraged, I knew that I would have no shot at starting a conversation with someone if I had nothing to talk about. By the time summer rolled around, my…
