However, I feel they help me understand corporate crime, cybercrime, and managing a large force to ensure they operate efficiently. I also work at North Herts Leisure Centre (NHLC) where I operate as a lifeguard. Talking to customers swimming at NHLC, you build upon your communication skills. This is needed within a University. Engaging with my colleges and our customers is one way to hear personal stories which help you learn about the industry and what society is like. Communicate upon recent topics, engaging thoughts of opinion, learning more about another's beliefs, religion or country. Another skill I believe to be imperative is teamwork: completing the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and my Sport Leadership Qualification (SLQ) helped me to adapt the required skills in work within the public domain. During my time at NHLC, I have been in charge of running parties which involves looking after young people. Listening is a valued skill, being a member of staff at NHLC was very much ensuring the safety of operations be it in the pool or in the sport hall, and giving the best advice and instructions possible. I believe this be needed within University because I need to be able to listen to people's opinions and thought before I declare
