Police officers are hard working, dedicated people, and due to this dedication, it is difficult to find the time to interact with them. Thankfully, an inside look at the perspective of a law enforcement official was kindly given to me by a former officer who now teaches at Ceres High School, Randy Cerny. As a Detective Cerny remarks a lot more on what he did during this time of his career. He dealt with cases relating to burglary, gang intelligence, and was a part of a street crimes unit call S.T.I.C. (Special Team Investigating Crime). This was a somewhat dangerous, but interesting part of his career. According to Cerny he “...was always interested in the personalities and really got into the players…” when he was working with gang related cases. But even with all this interest and enjoyment in his work there was also some tragedy to it.
