How To Analyse Orchestra Performance

Improved Essays
When I first started watching the performance, I noticed that the performers were not dressed like normal musicians that I have watched before. They were wearing boots with spikes, sun glasses, and some even had colored streaks in their hair. They are performing very fast paced classical music. The Main musician in this performance is Nigel Kennedy. Nigel is a British Violinist, who is known for being on the the best violinist in the world. He also does not look like the normal classical violin performer. The concert has dark colored lighting. They are performing in a huge concert hall with a large audience. The stage is smaller but I can tell that the audience is very big. I felt more involved with the small group of performers because they all had their own personal behaviors.
The music was very entertaining. I never have been to a concert of this kind, but I enjoyed the entire concert. The music was fast paced, and that kept in interested more than a slower paced performance. The performers kept

I would never thought that I would enjoy this type of music. The music was interesting and I learned a lot from the interview Nigel had during the performance . This performance taught me to be more open minded towards music. The performance does an amazing job at appealing to the audience's senses. It not only provides great music but also provides a great atmosphere that invites the listener to be more open minded. I enjoyed the way the performers were behaving. They were energetic and lively. When the music became more somber and slow, they still kept the audience entertained. The only Criticism I have is that the lighting sometimes was hard to view. Sometimes the lighting was too green and it made the performers look like plants. In Conclusion, this is one of the best performances I have ever watched. I enjoyed that I learned about the Original composer while witnessing a newer

I appreciated the effort and music the mariachi group gave in their performance. I noticed how the trumpet usually took the main role while the violins supported the trumpets voice, usually by pizzicato. The guitar and guitarrón were mainly the background music that played the same rhythm over and over. It made me realize the beauty of…

Overall I expected it to be a great performance, and it is safe to say my expectations were met. There was a lot of kids, and babies in attendance which I didn’t expect at all. The performance put on by the Orchestra was great. When the director of the orchestra entered the stage everyone in the audience gave him an applause as he starts to greet the audience, and talk about the performance. The projector behind the performers had videos, and drawings displayed that was turned into amination, and it brought the drawings to life while making the story more entertaining.…

My expectations walking towards the production for “Betty’s Diner” were not very high. I was not looking forward to seeing the play because I really dislike musicals. The singing after every six minutes bored me as a child watching movie musicals so why would I want to watch them now? As a kid I was unable to watch “High School Musical” and most other musical movies because the singing absolutely annoyed me whenever a character felt any type of emotion. All of my experiences of past musicals had clouded my mind making me not want watch the play.…

As stated before the concert was not what I was expecting. I enjoyed it more than I believed I would, it certainly isn’t my new favorite type of music, but understanding aspects of it gave me a greater appreciation for the music and the musicians. Things such as a recognizable basso ostinato set by the base player were a familiar starting point. When the soloists needed an accompaniment the bassist varied the continuous rhythm to compliment what the soloist was playing, otherwise, the beat was…

On October 20, 2015 I had the pleasure of watching the University Jazz Ensemble II at the University of Louisville in Comstock. I have now been to a handful of jazz performances and I would have to say that this is my favorite. In this jazz ensemble, Jerry stated this particular ensemble was full of music majors, jazz majors, music educators, and graduates. I like seeing jazz ensembles that are mixed up with young and old, male and female.…

What I really enjoyed was the atmosphere. The lights were dimmed so people could feel more comfortable and the music consisted of a good balance of upbeat music, and slow music. Songs were sung and people worshiped for about forty-five minutes. This was a very moving experience. Glancing into the audience, it was evident that everyone was engaged in the worship.…

Being able to choreograph and perform in dance concert is a very unique and amazing experience. Creating ideas with everyone around you and transforming those ideas into a masterpiece is a process like no other. With everyone’s opinions out in thin air, you can put all of your ideas into one to create something so beautiful. In Modern especially it was really intriguing to watch the whole process of how the dance was created. Since we did originally have a combo to go off of, it was different watching all the different groups create a combo over the steps but just in a different format.…

Walking into the auditorium, I immediately noticed that the atmosphere of the concert was completely different from that of the classical concert I attended weeks earlier. To begin with, it seemed like there was much more of an audience. Everyone seemed excited for the concert to start. As for myself, I was also excited because, on the very front of the program, it said that there was a guest artist that was going to perform with the ensemble. The performers wore more of a business casual look, some were a little more dressed up than others, but overall they looked very well dressed.…

I was extremely impressed with the vocal capacity of each actor to sing with such intensity to an audience of this magnitude. The sound design for the vocal performers was professionally maintained throughout the whole show, on the day I went to see it, I did not notice any single hiccup or static. Nevertheless, I did notice a couple of moments coming from the instruments were a couple of notes sounded a bit off, but they were pretty minor. I also enjoyed the choice of having a lot of darkness in some scenes which added to the sense of gloominess which they were seemingly intending for. Some of the Gobos they used were very well implemented, specially at moments of the show where the scene happened ashore.…
