Isn’t it amazing, the entirety of human knowledge is accessible through a single device, small enough to fit into our pockets? Yet most of us use it to send tweets, text our friends, play games, and sometimes to avoid conversation. The device I’m referring to is none other than a smart phone. A smart phone is a mobile device with advanced features. It has a high-resolution touch screen display, WIFI connectivity, web browsing capabilities, and the ability to run sophisticated applications.(Jannsen) These devises have changed the world. You’d need to work hard in school if you want the knowledge to build a smart phone. There were over 200 contributes to the invention of the first smart phone. These individuals were well educated in a variety fields such as Computer Graphics, Computer System Networking, and Micro Computer Applications. Among the contributors for the first smart phones, was a scintillant gentleman named Charles J. Pisula. Well, according to Nicole Arce on techtimes.com, a record breaking 10 million iPhone 6’s and iPhone 6 plus’ were sold worldwide within the first three days of its release.(Arce) According to Fionna Agomuoh a record breaking 10 millions Samsung Galaxy S5’s were sold in the first 25 days of the its release. This clearly shows that the demands for smartphones are higher than they’ve ever been. With this new demand of phones, the number of software engineers and hardware designers needed have sky rocketed.
