In the article "Is Your Smartphone Making You Stupid?" Benjamin Robbins “asks whether our mobile devices are making us over-reliant on technology to make decisions for us.” In the article Robbins presents his opinion on how people rely on smartphones to replace what used to be a daily part of people's lives, such as memorizing phone numbers or directions. Robbins’s idea is correct that people today do relate their phone too much that almost make them not to think about anything.
One of the points Robbins discusses in the article is about how people use their phones to "provide a level of connectedness and convenience" (Robbins). Robbins supports his point by using relatable examples like letting people know your estimated time of arrival. He

To begin to answer his question, Robbins first talked about the purpose of the storing information outside the mind. He explains that this process of recording information has been used for a long time to keep physical record. Robbins describes that this is like an upgrade for human's memory (Robbins). Robbins also points out that human memory can be unreliable sometimes. He explains that "a pointer to the information is infinitely better than attempting to remember the information"(Robbins). Robbins poses another question about whether humans use the increased amount of memorization capacity. Next Robbins speaks from personal experience. He discusses the difference in his behavior before he had his smartphone, and after his smartphone.
