Depending on the model chosen, an electric vehicle can cost up to $100,000” (Wenkart, 2013, p. 43). This means that for the same price, you can buy a nice gasoline-powered car. It’s about cost performance. At the same price people always choose gasoline-powered car, but nobody really cares about the environment.
Battery Issue The car battery is not like the ordinary battery, it’s totally different type with high technology. It’s costly. Yet, costly not always means perfect, the problem still there. The internal combustion engine has a long life, even 30 years even more than 30 years. But, the automotive battery technology is not mature enough, consequently battery’s life is more shorter than the internal combustion engine. A car should work at least 15 years or more. People need practicability, no matter the vehicle development, but the main function it’s still transportation, so nobody want to always worry about the battery.

Owning a Tesla car has its benefits, yet there are few drawbacks that need to be addressed, to ensure this vehicle is widely applicable to the entire society. One of the benefits of owning an electrical vehicle, is no emissions are produces as the vehicle is powered and operated through electrical energy only. This means it requires no sort of fossil-fuels or biofuels, required to actively operate this vehicle. This is essential in current society, as the global warming due to excess production of greenhouse gases, is impacting the entire globe. Through the introduction of green vehicles that produce little to none greenhouse, these automobiles can effectively curb the threat of climate change due to greenhouse gases.…

In the late 1890’s, electric vehicles were first invented. This included electric carriages and wagons. Later in the early 1900’s, Detroit Electric became the most successful electric car company in the U.S. Electric cars have been around for a while even if they seem like recent technology. Electric cars and hybrid cars have become a great alternative to fuel guzzlers. They produce little to no carbon emissions when running, which is good for the environment.…

“More than 19 pounds per gallon—comes right out of a car’s tailpipe” (Car Emissions and Global Warming, N/A). Car companies, such as Tesla, are adopting clean energy and using electricity to power their motor vehicles.it has been said that electric vehicles, “can reduce emissions by 80 percent compared to gasoline” (Car Emissions and Global Warming, N/A). Although electric cars do not use the sun’s rays and energy to power the cars, the cars use electricity instead. A primary issue that will deter consumers from purchasing Tesla automobiles is the price. Tesla cars can range from about 50,000 dollars to 100,000 dollars or more, depending on the model of the car and the amount of watts per mile.…

An investigation was done in the areas of types of benefits suggested by many consumer trends, and the future of hybrid technology. A focus group of people who in recent times bought cars, both hybrids and non-hybrids, revealed what consumers look for in their cars. Study of the needs of hybrid technology helped determine how feasible widespread change to hybrids would be in the future. With all the information taken into account, I concluded that hybrids have several issues that offset their fuel efficiency. Their higher cost both turns consumers away and makes the vehicles a less attractive economic investment.…

But what happens with the battery after 3 to 10 years? Electric cars are powered with a Lithium-ion battery which is unfriendly to the environment when it gets recycle, due to the toxic gases with are released. In addition, researchers have discovered that batteries using cobalt and cathodes with nickel and solvent-based electrode will affect the ecology and could produce deadly virus for humans being like cancer when it burns.…

As the global concern for the environment increases with time, the desire to use cars decreases. People are aware that cars release fumes which, when combined, can be detrimental for the environment, and they want to do something about it. Elisabeth Rosenthal writes in her New York Times article, “In German Suburb, Life Goes on Without Cars”, that up to fifty percent of environmental greenhouse gas pollution comes from the cars driven in American suburbs. In her article, she quotes David Goldberg, an official of Transportation for America, that “All of our [the U.S.A.’s] development since World War II has been centered on the car, and that will have to change”. It seems like America, and the rest of the world, is becoming more aware about what…

Analytical Essay One With technology and environmental changes happening every day it is hard to keep up sometimes. Today’s economy promotes positive changes to the world to benefit the life of everyone on Earth in every aspect of life. Two articles have focused on one subject in specific to better educate the people and tell them through studies and analyzing what environmental benefits come from electric vehicles as opposed to gas-powered. First,”Electric cars may be worse for the environment than gas-powered” by Jason Russell explains the study of Professor Stephen Holland and his colleagues, discussing the misconception of a benefit from driving electric vehicles rather than gas-powered. Another article,”Positive and negative effects from electric car purchases” by Christian Andreas Klöckner gives a detailed, statistical report of how families use their electric vehicles, their effect on the environment, and how this can effect a household with multiple vehicles.…

Electric cars have been around for a long time. Even back in the 1960’s the automobile industry was dabbling with electric cars. For the idea of an electric car having been around for at least 50 years now, the fact the world has not totally accepted the electric car as being better for the world show that it must not be better. In fact, electric cars are bad for the world for numerous reasons. These reasons include: electric cars are a waste of time where people are pursuing an idea that is not better, electric cars cause just as much pollution but in other ways, the batteries from electric cars are bad for the environment when the car is no longer in use, the electricity grid capacity in the world can not handle all cars being electric,…

Electric cars are a great new way of travel with the new and improved batteries. The new battery, used in electric cars, is the lithium-ion pack. Lithium batteries are composed of a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolyte solution. A permeable membrane, called a separator, plays an important role between the positive and negative electrodes; the separation is what allows the battery to create electricity. These cars are great for high school students or college students who only need to get around their community.…
