High School Transcripts

Decent Essays
Transcripts Throughout my High school career, I have managed to pass most of my classes. Even though I have struggled in math and English I managed to pass both classes with a passing grade. Life skills was not my best class during my freshman year. I thought this class was a waste of time, but then I realized I had to do better. So I decided to take e2020 and passed with a B. I explicitly tried my very best to improve my grades.

Attendance
All through high school, I have hardly missed any days. In fact, I received an award for perfect attendance during my senior year. I don't like missing school because then I miss work and information that I need to know. I’m proud that I have a good attendance I plan to continue to maintain good attendance

I believe that I am an excellent candidate for the Early College program. For me, school is a top priority, and I always strive to be my best. Whenever I set my focus on a task, I will put 100% effort into it until I am satisfied with the result. I am not nervous to talk to adults or teachers, and address any questions I have about the course. To be at college at such a young age demands hard work and dedication, which I am ready to put forth.…

Cross country and track have the same coach, and most teammates continue to do both sports. Because the teams are so similar, they retain the same captains. I inputted 52 weeks per year for both sports, because I am always running and contributing to both sports. The sports mesh together; I help plan for Track during Cross Country, and vice versa.…

“Melissa, levantate rapido” that translates to Melissa you have 5 seconds to get up, and be ready or you will feel the wrath of The Chancla (a weapon used from all Hispanic mother’s to demonstrate authority.) Ten seconds after shouting at the top of her lungs for me to get up, my mother begins her day as she always does, providing my father, younger siblings and I with a meal. Which usually consists of the crispy black goya beans and medium sized white eggs all wrapped in a soft warm corn tortilla, I was thirteen when my mom was seven months pregnant, nearly fainted from exhaustion from cleaning houses, but it was not an option, my father's income was just not sufficient enough to support three children and an incoming one. It was at…

The goal of Boys & Girls Clubs is: “to provide a world-class Club experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who walks through our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school, on time, with a plan for the future.” As a Club staff with little weight behind me to support this goal, it makes me a stone’s throw away from being labeled a hypocrite when I almost didn’t graduate from high school, let alone have a plan for the future. My childhood wasn’t glamorous enough to brag about, nor was it full of grief-stricken struggles that would warrant a tug at any heartstrings. It was simple. I grew up with both of my parents and my brother who was 4 years my senior.…

Since starting high school, my interest in classroom learning had dropped quite significantly. I felt like grades were just a game, and that I should be out in the world learning things I deemed "practical life skills." My senior year I was able to mentor in a classroom of fourth graders for one period, ever other day. I took the class thinking it would be an easy and fun way to spend an hour an a half.…

Many people have dealt with life changing experiences throughout their lives. My life has changed in the past two years and I have been struggling with a knee problem called Osteochondritis Dissecans, or OCD for short. Osteochondritis Dissecans is a condition where the bone underneath your cartilage dies due to a lack of blood supply. This can cause the bone to crack and loosen and sometimes even completely disconnect from the joint. Not only has OCD taken me out of all my extracurricular activities such as, hockey and soccer, it has also taken a huge toll on my academics.…

During my junior year I experienced failure. I had taken 3 AP classes and I was in cheer at my high school, and trying to figure out a balance between the two was difficult for me because it seemed like cheer took up a lot of my time and in the past other two years it had, but I had managed to still do well in my honors and AP classes. My junior year was another story, I struggled a lot at the beginning of the school year, and most of first semester was spent with me having an F sometimes more than one, and that was a failure to me because I had my heart set on going to a four college or university and I knew that if i had an F i wouldnt qualify.…

At the end of the course I had received a pass and I was happy about that. A pass/fail system eliminates the need for a GPA which, in my opinion, would cause less stress, anxiety, and cheating from scared students. In the end, what I think really matters is understanding what you are supposed to be studying and learning. If you are able to apply what you’ve learned to your life or work, then you have succeeded.…

Thou Shalt Attend In high school it was quite apparent that students could receive many absences with little or no consequences and still be able to maintain a good grade point average. However, in college that is not the case. Student attendance in college is important because students who attend class have better grades, have better relationships with their peers as well as professors and develop responsible habits and behaviors. Students who attend class often receive better grades on tests for they are present the day the material was taught.…

Everyone learns and studies differently so in order to really succeed you must find what works for you, and how to keep everything in order. It took me forever to really understand I needed to find my own organization and study tactics. Along with organization the need to use my failures to rise up in my classes really led me to maintain high grades. In my edblog “Failure” I discuss the troubles of failure and how to use it to construct a foundation for school. I find I learn more from failures than excelling grades, because it shows that not everything can be handed to you and that I needed to step up, change what I had been doing, and learn new things in order to help me succeed.…

Three years into my high school I hadn't gotten into the state of mind that most over achievers have. I had floated through high school thinking I was trying my very hardest to get good grades and become a consistently studious candidate of my school. However, no matter how hard I tried I failed I gave into all the distractions and used all my obstacles as excuses became frustrated and developed an attitude problem that I had created myself. Being a consistent 2.5 student wasn't satisfying or inspiring. Uniquely enough, I had decided to take challenging courses my junior year.…
