We cleaned Ms.Davenport’s house each Saturday till her passing. Every time my mother and I cleaned her house,she was the only person out of the three houses my mother and I cleaned, who dared to ask me about my education and life outside of scrubbing toilets. From choosing courses and the level of course from regular ranging all the way to AP (advanced placement). As I entered high school I knew I was determined to challenge myself and take a chance take AP classes, that's when I was given the worst judgment from my freshman counselor. As I chose my courses, she looked at me in great confusion and said: “Oh I don’t think you can handle, these courses you should try regular honey.” The kind words of Ms. Davenport reemerged my mind “don’t let anyone stand in the way from gaining the exemplary education, stand strong and brave.” Ms. Davenport’s words stood as a greater source of counseling than my actual High School counselor. Freshman year went great, with the challenging courses I managed to get Honor Roll while taking these classes that “I would not handle.” got six A's and two B's. The defiance of my counselor and the motivation from Ms. Davenport. I would show my parents my grades and they will shrug it off and say “you are supposed to make those grades” Ms. Davenport for once said “I’m proud of you” and would be my biggest motivation
