‘Knowing the content and how to teach it’ is a standard from the Professional Knowledge section and talks about the knowledge you have for the subject and understanding how it should be taught which suits the learning style of the students whilst aligning with the Australian government's requirements. EDF5141 involves the development of this standard mostly through assignment two. This is because the second assignment involved planning a unit with 10 appropriately sequenced lessons. As per the unit plan, we start with 2 lessons of background information where we want to introduce the topic and establish why exercise is important. Next, we follow up with 6 lessons on our major focus area of implementing an event to create an exercise opportunity within a community. These 6 lessons comprise of planning and creating a movie to advertise the student-run event. To finish up, we then have 2 lessons of reflection where students can assess what worked and may be improved for next time. Therefore, I believe we demonstrate appropriate sequencing, required by the APST. In addition, within the unit outline we have provided, there are 3 digital learning tools that my partners and I have created to enhance the learning outcome of our students. These digital tools which are linked include a website where they learn how to create movies, an integrated online worksheet where they simultaneously organise their event day and a reflection PowerPoint which requires them to edit a slide each and present their reflection with the rest of the class. These resources are all linked to a hub website we created where they can find all the information required for the unit. Collectively, the digital learning tools we created add to the ‘plan for and implement effective teaching and learning’ APST as it demonstrates the ‘select and uses resources’ aspect which requires creating and using ICT to engage and teach
