I thought that health communication was more in a way of how doctors or pharmacies reach out to their patients/customers and also more in a way of a commercial approach, how communication is approach in the health sector. However, in this chapter I learned it is much more organized and that effective health communications is important to train the public with tools and knowledge to respond correctly to health crises. The three key objectives of health communication; to engage, empower and influence individuals and communities are crucial to avert health crisis such as flue outbreaks, malaria, HIV/AIDS etc.

In my opinion teamwork/mutual agreement and establishing long-term relationship are the two most important features of health communications.
It is important to work in a team when trying to understand and help people from a different country. The key characteristic that is related to this in my opinion is People-centered. However, I have worked as an optician assistant for many years and almost all of our customers use contact lenses. In the past years I have been talking to a lot of the patients regarding the use of contact lenses, many of the patients had bought “Dailies, One day disposable contact lenses”, however they have been use the same lens for up to one week. This can be really damaging towards the eye cause of the dryness of the contactless. I even had a customer one that bought a par of monthly contact lenses and wore them for 6 months.
