Health Care Reform, also known as Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act was created to allow all American citizens the opportunity to purchase and afford health care coverage and also to lower health care spending. Since being signed into law on March 23, 2010, it has created an opportunity for lower income individuals and families to obtain healthcare coverage. In addition, it has created regulations that health insurance carriers must abide by. The Affordable Care Act has affected individuals, hospitals and physicians alike. Although, it is good for the American population, it also as an impact on hospitals, physicians and other service providers. This paper will outline the impact of Health Care Reform.
