An issue that America deals with everyday and an issue that many debate about year round is Gun control. Yet, the big question is should it be legal to carry one nationally? One in three americans own gun and according to The Wall Street Journal, only 30 states allow open carry. The problem of having a gun all comes down to the person who has the gun. Many sides of the argument say that carrying a gun and allowing americans to have on can cause danger and harmful actions. On the other hand, many say that it is our right as an American to carry one and protect ourselves from bad situations. With these arguments at hand, the issue of gun control is on the rise as many incidents have occurred during the last year. The fact is simple, we as the american people have always had a code of peace and love. A country in which all races and all ages come together to create a nation as great as we are. Many think that giving the freedom to allow citizens carry a weapon is holding back on that code. Yet, controlling guns is based on our founding fathers. The 2nd Amendment says that we as americans have the right to bear arms. However, many people who believe in pro gun control say that the 2nd Amendment was intended for our militia only. "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." (2nd Amendment of the United States Constitution) The Constitution states that the right to bear arms is in the hands of the militia, yet many believe that the people have the right to bear their own arms.
