Ever since I was in eighth grade, I have always dreamed of working on Wall Street and being a stockbroker. My first exposure to the field was created after I participated in a stock market simulation in eighth grade and did finished in second place out of 45 students. My teacher saw that even at such a young age, I had a knack for picking up on certain trends of the market and making the right investments at the right time. Since then, my understanding of finance has evolved from solely stocks to financial consulting and investment banking. For this upcoming year, I have come up with a three step plan to ensure that I can gain exposure in the field and gain exposure in different occupations I can use with a finance degree.

My first step is to apply to the Pforzheimer Honors College at Pace University, a distinct honors program that has tools and resources designed to help students exceed their potential. Getting into the program was going to be a challenge since the school only accepts 10% of its applicants, but I was accepted in July. My motivation to join this prestigious program was in order to network with professors and have the recognition for being one of the top students in my class. Having this distinction will allow me to stand out from others when applying for an internship and give me an upper hand.
