I first attended Boise State University after high school in 1996. While at Boise State, I met my husband and we had our first child. I decided to take some time off of school to raise my son, with every intention of returning to college. Little did I know that it would take me almost twenty years to return to Boise State University, but here I am. I am majoring in Elementary Education, with an endorsement in literature. Since coming back to school a year and a half ago I have maintained a 4.0 grade point average. I have worked hard and am committed to maintaining my grade point average. A scholarship would mean a lot to me and my family, as finances are tight. For the past two years I have been able to work a part time job to help cover the expenses of college, but I am entering the last year and a half of school and I am unable to work due to my busy school schedule. I am the mother of four children, one who is currently in college and another who will start college in a year. Paying for two children in college, plus myself, makes finances very slim. I also have large medical bills every month due to my 13 year old having type one diabetes. I pay around seven thousand dollars a year out of pocket for my son’s medical expenses. Any financial assistance would be a huge help to me.
I have wanted to be a teacher since the eighth grade and I am finally at a point in my life where I can make that dream a reality. My mother enjoyed a 23-year career as an elementary school…
