Family Chose To Pay For College

As the third oldest in my family, but the first to go to college, looking for sources to pay for colleges has been something that my family has never done before. My family has qualified for the free lunch program every year that I have been in the Sycamore school district. For the program, families need to apply on a yearly basis and provide verification of family income and household size. My family is headed by my single mother and I have three other siblings.

My plan to pay for college is through trying to have as many scholarships as possible and then paying the rest through loans. My family have not saved for myself or my siblings education and I only have very limited amount saved since I started working last year. I plan to get a job while in school, but I do not want to take too large of a time portion away from my studies for school in an attempt to pay for my school. …show more content…
I want to be the first in my family to receive education higher than an associate's. My mother is the only source of income for my family. My mother has been divorced to my father for ten years and my father passed away last November in an accident. I would benefit greatly from this scholarship and the funds will allow me to pay for my education and concentrate on my studies (and my future) and not spending so much time
