My education is of utmost significance to me, hence I have diligently applied myself to my academic studies. For four years, I have been on the high honor roll. Additionally, I have been a part of National Honor Society for two years, a prestigious accomplishment. With education in mind, the University of Wisconsin--River Falls is the college I will attend this fall. There, my goal is to major in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). After four years, I plan to remain at UW River Falls in order to obtain my Master’s Degree in CSD. After graduating college, I expect to be working full time in my planned occupation of a Speech Language Pathologist. I am interested in this career because I received the opportunity to witness speech therapists working with young patients and it appeared to be an enjoyable, rewarding job. Even though this is my career goal, my predominant goal is to obtain a job with which I am content. Attending work everyday and despising my job is not what I desire; I want to enjoy my career by feeling as if I have a purpose or that I am making a difference in someone’s life. …show more content…
In the fall of 2018, both my sister and I will be attending a university. This will put substantial financial strain on my parents, my sister, and me. My sister and I will work during the summer to pay for college, but our parents prefer that we do not work during the school year so that we can focus on our studies. Thus, any scholarship will help me pay for tuition and board, and will be considerably beneficial toward my future
