“Gender inequality refers to unequal treatment or perceptions of individuals based on their gender. It arises from differences in socially constructed gender roles as well as biologically through chromosomes, brain structure, and hormonal differences.” This type of inequality is seen almost everyday in many everyday lives but mostly in the workplace. Gender roles have drastically changed since the 1900s but they are still not where women want them to be. There is still discrimination over a woman being able to handle a job with a lot of pressure and needed authority over their workers. Female feticide is driven by many factors, but mostly by the idea of having to pay a dowry to the future bridegroom of a daughter. Sons can also perform the rites for the souls of deceased parents and ancestors.
