Social oppression is apparent in many ways. An example of this form of oppression is objectification of women in where women is seen as a sexual object instead of as a person.Leading to things like cat calling making women uncomfortable and even to sexual assault. A form of this inequality is the wage gap in America. “According to figures released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, on average in 2012, women made about 81 percent of the median earnings of male full-time wage and salary workers”(3) The wage gap in which women make considerably less than men shows oppression in that there is definitely not equality in between the two genders in there pay.
