Exploring PH Levels

PH levels are a measure of how acidic or basic your beverage is. They show what beverages are more acidic, like soda, and what beverages are more basic, like water. It’s measured on a scale from one to fourteen. One through six are the acid levels, seven is the only neutral level, and eight through fourteen are the basic levels.
First, get 2 drinks of choice and pour them into two different cups. Then, record its pH level, as well as the room temperature. Next, take another liquid and mix it into one of the beverages. Record any noticeable changes in color or pH. After, take another substance and add it to both beverages. Record the new pHs and note any visible changes with the drinks.
This is where temperature takes place in the experiment.

This topic is relevant to society because many people may wonder about how their drinks acquire the acidic or subtle tastes. It shows which drink aren’t as good for the body, and which should be consumed more. The pH strips could be really helpful when children are younger. The strips could help them drink the right beverages that are better for them while they’re smaller. It could also help adults who don’t want to consume too many carbs a day. This is a fun and easy experiment that anyone of all ages can do for more insight on what they’re putting inside their body.
There are many components that can be used from this project by scientist in the future. The pH strips could be used to show what chemicals are more acidic and which ones are more basic. It could also guide them to which chemicals should be used and which shouldn’t be. This could help the scientists steer away from using dangerous chemicals that have a chance of being detrimental if mixed with the wrong things.
