When you are working on becoming healthier, whether you are trying to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight, it is very important to make exercise part of your weekly routine. Like they say, all work with no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Exercise has a lot of benefits and is a mood regulator. It is something that everyone benefits greatly from, so knowing some of the benefits will give a person more motivation to start doing activities and stick to a schedule of them.

* A happier person: As mentioned in the introduction, exercise is a mood regulator. If you are feeling down and do some type of exercise, it is very likely that your mood will be uplifted and you will feel happier. This is because a human being's body releases a chemical

Simple tasks, like carrying heavy bags back from the grocery store, might seem easier now that that you have become stronger. Depending on what type of exercises you do, you will also notice that you can reach up and out further. Shelves that seemed high can be reached easier now. You might also notice how balancing improves, and this can prevent a fall!

* Muscle building: Don't let your mind think of muscles seen on body builders. When people exercise, they are also building their muscle mass. What is so beneficial about this? Having bigger muscles will create more fat burning during the day, even when you are simply sitting down doing nothing or sleeping. This maximizes calorie burn. The more muscle you have in your body, the more calories that are burned every hour.

* Losing inches off the body: Although many people are simply obsessed with the number on the scales, it is also very important to take body measurements at least once a month. Exercising will help to get inches off your body and, therefore, look slimmer and more toned. When you are on a slimming diet, this method can be used to make up for a bad scale-week.
