Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) is a regulatory requirement to ensure that employers are utilizing fair and equitable practices when hiring, laying off or terminating employees, conducting evaluations, and awarding promotions, to name a few (Bernardin & Russell, 2013). Hiring practices and promotions are major areas of concern when ensuring that discrimination does not play a factor in decision-making; however, there are other areas that should be monitored as well. Race, gender, and age have been complaints of employees for years and employers still struggle with complying with regulations. If a company’s upper-level management staff is dominated by a specific race and gender, applicants may perceive that they were discriminated against,
