Currently, our organization is extremely focused on the bottom line, much to the detriment of the employees, the hospital is in a profits before people mode of operation. In addition, the administration possesses the expectation that quality, safety, and patient satisfaction numbers rise, a goal which is unattainable absent staff engagement. Furthermore, dissatisfied staff directly correlate to an increase in patient complaints and statements of dissatisfaction (Hurst, 2011). Comprehending that organizational employee satisfaction is greater than my purview, the focus must be narrowed to staff satisfaction in the emergency department (ED) as the priority.
