Major problem and secondary issues The hospital challenge is how to develop a strategic framework that it will maximize staff and patient safety, eliminate stress, save time to increase quality care performance. This measurement goal is to minimize the loss of patient valuable, improve patient experience and decrease the hospital’s liabilities for any negligence or compensation claims. The patient was admitted to ICU (Intensive care Unit) after a post open heart surgery. On his first day on ICU floor, the patient was transferred with his denture but he was not allowed to eat solid food and he was placed on a liquid diet. After five days, the patient diet was advanced to a regular diet and he needed his denture to eat his meals. At that moment, the patient couldn’t find his denture and he complained to the nurse about his missing belonging. An investigation process started with the staff nurse checking his room, security was called to file a written lost report and the case incident was forwarded to the risk management department to replace patient’s lost denture for a total cost of $1,120 charge
