Leadership plays a leading role in bringing the needed changes that are geared towards talent management that has been a major challenge at Navy Child Development Center for several years. The problem has seen top talents leave the organization because of poor management in designing effective strategies, communication, and effective decision-making processes. Effective talent management in an organization marks the interaction where the strategic requirements of the organization congregate with the hopes, as well as aspirations of the individuals that work for the organization (Schwartz 2011, pp. 14). The leaders help the organization restructure and recognize talent management as a “business vital activity” that is aligned with future goals of the organization, as well as business objectives. Leaders will help the Navy Child Development Center address the challenges of communication, poor management and poor decision-making process that are vital in allowing the organization attain both long-and short-term goals (Nilsson & Ellström 2012, pp …show more content…
The primary of the leader is to apply the leadership skills to manage the level of outputs from the talent pipeline and make sure that the talents are aligned with the strategic direction of the organization. It has been established that effective talent management program in an organization should be adaptive and consistently supply to changing market business priorities. This has not been the case at the Navy Child Development Center. Furthermore, the leader will accommodate the needed changes that should be implemented in the organization. It was clear from the Navy Child Development Center that the failure of the leadership to accommodate the changing needs of the employees was one of the problems that the organization has been facing for years. The leader will be responsible for initiating changes that will promote the management of talent and reduce or eliminate the employee turnover, which has been rampant in the organization in the last few years. The leader will provide strategies through the managers will be in a position to predict the applications for emerging business strategies and have a primary contribution to undertake towards specifying the quantity and quality of talent needed by the
