In today’s world, one goal almost every person is trying to reach is the most advanced position at a job, manager. It takes a person that can lead an entire team and can accompany any problems that should arise to be an excellent manager. It is a grueling task to have to take on, but if you choose the right management style, it can come natural. In fact there are many different types of management styles: directive, authoritive, affiliative, participative, pacesetting, and coaching. The most strict management style is directive. When someone has a directive approach to things, that person wants things to be done exactly how they want with no questions asked. They like to make sure that the employee is happy and gets along with everyone else. Affiliative mangers tend to make sure that an employee is enjoy the task that they are handed. They are the type to order a pizza and sit around with the employees talking about life and tell stories before they go to work. If a project was in the process of being worked on and workers got into a fight over how to do something, the manager would pull them into the office to work it out before returning to work weather that means being behind or not. While this style makes it so employees love their job, it tends to put them behind with getting a task done. Employees always feel relaxed under this supervision but then just begin to wonder when they are going to begin the task that they are supposed to complete by the end of the …show more content…
They like to have the input and ideas that all the employees have so they can go about the project the right way. Participative managers will start the day by asking what they want to work on that day and go from there. They reward employees that put in good team effort and put in a good approach to things. This gives a chance for the employees to speak their mind and it may generate a great idea. This style has been proven to be effect due to the fact that employees do not feel like they are being put down by the person above them. Also they feel like they can actually say if something isn’t working without the fear of getting in
