There are many different ways that advertisements appeal to their audience. Advertisers use a combination of techniques, images, and diction to draw in their audience and achieve a certain feeling. When words and colorful images combine, advertisements can be very appealing to all ages. Ads draw on the viewers emotion in order to catch their attention. In these two advertisements about hand sanitizer, the creators used two distinct techniques to appeal to the audience. Both the ads use images and diction to obtain the audience's attention. In the purel ad, the creators used very colorful images to draw in the audience. The colorful images are used to intrigue a younger audience interest. The images that are on the hand are things that people touch in their everyday lives. By having a large number of items on the hand, the creators can appeal to a …show more content…
In the Purel ad, the words “you are what you touch” are displayed at the bottom of the ad. The ad uses this specific wording to group the audience with the things that they touch. By saying “you are”, the advertiser is making the audience feel like the images that are on the hand. By doing this, the advertisers get the audience to feel like things they don’t want to be. An example of this is the animals that are in the image. Those animals are things that are in the daily lives of most people, and are touched frequently during the day. Therefore, by saying “you are”, the advertiser makes the audience feel like they are not human to obtain their attention. In the Sanzer ad, the advertisers used diction in a different way. The question “ what you really touch?” is displayed on the screen. By using a question, the advertiser's makes the audience question what they touch.
