“Sorry.”
What the hell is with this awkward aura all of a sudden. I took a quick glance around the room to see who else showed up, which it doesn’t seem like no one did, although now that I’m really checking, she was the only girl in here. What kind of setups are the advisors doing this year?
“Why did she sit next to him?” I heard someone whispered.
“I don’t know, the seat next to me was opened,” another whispered back.
“Maybe he’s her boyfriend. Lucky guy to be able to snatch up Ariana; I’ve been trying for months.”
There’s the reason why I’m having this uneasy feeling. The envious stares from the jealous dudes in the room are causing me to itch. If sitting next to her can create this much attention, I don’t want no part of it.
“Maybe I should sit somewhere else,” I offered, getting up to grab my bag. “You know, so you’ll have your own...”
“No deal!” she denied, pulling me back down into the seat. “If you move someone else might try to comeback here.”
“No, I insist.” I got back up before she pulled me down once again. “What?”
“Please!” she begged in an uneven tone. She had a frightened look in her eye as if someone was after her. “Please, just for today!”
What’s wrong with this girl? I don’t know if she’s serious, playing around or both, but I’m getting really irritated. Yeah it must be hard being the only girl in a room filled with boys, and yeah, it must’ve taken all her courage to come ask to sit next to me after what she said in the hallway, but I don’t care. I…
