Orenthal James Simpson grew up outside of San Francisco, California in a low income family with three other siblings. His mother worked at a psychiatric ward to support her four children. However, O.J Simpson’s father left his family with no apparent reason when he was a toddler. In return, O.J Simpson never had an influential male figure while growing up. Because of that incident it possibly could have had a huge emotional repercussion for his decisions he would commit to throughout his lifetime.

Through my eyes, I personally believe that his “Master Role” would be football. Without football, 90% of the roles above would not be included. However, the confusing matter in this case is that he did not lose his master role causing a mental/emotional melt down. So what triggered all of this anger? Mental aggression or controlling issues?

By gathering information from an online article called, “Inside the mind of O.J Simpson,” it states that he had controlling issues over Nicole Brown. The controlling factor could perhaps come from abandonment from his father or the football star “life” that he obtained by getting everything that he wanted. O.J Simpson could have possibly had an emotional attachment to Nicole Brown due to the fact that got what he wanted in this famous life he had. His adoration of Nicole Brown turned into a jealous rage that cannot be necessarily defined by sociologists. However, in my research that I have observed and gathered, I believe that Emotional Dysfunction played an enormous role in the case of O.J Simpson. Due to the trauma of abandonment as a child from his father I believe that could possibly have made him feel obligated to keep Nicole around due to the uncomfortable relapse
