Boot Camp Research Paper

Boot Camp Waking up for a grueling day of school is something that I hate doing every morning. Hearing an alarm blare in my ear for what seems to be twenty minutes straight is not of what I want my mornings to consist. The process of waking up, showering and getting dressed, being engaged during school hours, and finishing homework when I get home is beyond energy draining. I often contemplate whether or not I want to put myself through this “boot camp” of a day. A normal school day for me is full of many tears, broken pencils, and ripped pages; however, I still manage to man up, wipe away my tears, and get the job done every day. Some strategies that I have picked up along my high school journey are to bring some type of snack to school and to bring my headphones so that I can listen to music whenever I get stressed. When walking through the school doors on a Monday morning, I often think whether or not I am cut out to endure the next eight hours of torment. To force myself to walk the hallways of school, I think of graduating and how much I want to start a new chapter in my life. The moment I step foot in my first hour classroom, the tears begin to fall rapidly as I wonder if my teacher will be handing out slaps and punches without remorse. As I make my way through my day my attention span gets smaller and smaller. Fourth and fifth hour are the worst hours of the day due to my hunger that builds up throughout the morning hours. On the bright side, I end my difficult day with a laid-back study hall where I do not usually study. A normal school day drains my energy to the point where I have no want to do anything ever again; therefore, being engaged for eight hours at school is as difficult as it
