Courage In Mildred Taylor's Roll Of Thunder Hear My Cry

Courage is to not give up and not let anyone push you down.Throughout the book Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry, Mildred Taylor uses stacey the oldest child to show us that he has to stand up for his convictions. Stacey proves his courage by staying strong when he got blamed for cheat notes and got paddled even when T.J had them and slipt them to stacey getting him paddled. Staceys actions to stay strong showed that he would be a brave and strong character. He had a deep respect toward T.J and his Dad. Also Stacey knew that everyone wasn't treated equally. Stacey shows to his family and friends that he would be willing to pay the consequences for everything he got in trouble for.

Are you willing to help someone even if there untrustworthy? Well Stacey logan stayed strong even though T.J told the wallaces about momma not teaching the right things out of the book. Stacey stuck with T.J because they used to be best friends till T.J slipt the cheat notes to Stacey and got him spanked in front of everyone. And T.J getting his mom fired. Stacey got mad at T.J for having the cheat notes and went to the wallaces to beat T.J up but Mr.Morrison broke the fight up. And that shows that Stacey would take up for his consequences. T.J still wanted to be best friends with stacey and that relationship stayed together. This book really shows you what it was like back then. Were people weren't treated equally and people were just selfish. And mean and just because of their skin color they judged them for it. So no one should treat someone unequal to anyone else.
