Assessment Summary #2 – T.J.
T.J. is a very interesting four year old, that I have had the privilege of being able to continue to observe him. He likes to play cars and rough house with his buddies especially on the playground. T.J. has had ups and down throughout my observation period at the child development center. The second half of the observations I have noticed that T.J. has at times secluded himself from interacting with his fellow classmates. In other aspects of development he has progressed such as in speaking and vocabulary since the start of me observing him.
Social/ Emotional Development As mentioned before at times T.J. will just leave the group and go across the room. I believe that he may not want to do the activity and that is why he just leaves the area. The class went outside once on the playground T.J went to the log house and sat down. He started making faces at the classmates when they tried to come in the house. In the last couple of observations I have noticed he has been staying with his group of classmates while participating in actives. In the last visit in the month of March he was playing legos with his classmates on the carpet area. He was helping one of the classmates with building and digging to find

When the teacher says it reading time come to the carpet, T.J. knows the teacher is going to read a book or let classmates participate in a video by learning a dance. This demonstrates that he is engaging in a positive learning environment. He shows curiosity when rolling a Lego car on the floor so faster and throws it up in the air to see where it will land. After playing with the toy animals he picks up the animal and says this is a giraffe. When the teacher says let line up, T.J. automatically goes and gets his water bottle for the playground. He can go to the sink and fill up his water bottle himself when it is
