Since the handguns are concealed, a criminal would be unable to detect whether a classroom has armed staff or not (Crime Prevention Research Center). Students who are nervous when seeing firearms wouldn't be scared because the handguns would be hidden. President Trump advises school boards to protect the staff of each district with insurance to reduce the risk of liability, which should put those with concern for the staff at ease (“Arming Teachers and School Staff”).
Many people fear that concealed firearms will increase the number of school shootings. However, this could not be further from the truth. Some college universities allow students to carry concealed weapons onto their campus, and these same institutes have not experienced any backlash from the decision (Burnett). Burnett then explains how this results in the notion that concealed weapons have reduced crime rates in the certain states that allow concealed carry. The notion that concealed weapons on college campuses would make college crime rates vanish ties into my argument that all public universities should make the second amendment accessible to the students that feel maximizing their safety is related to carrying a concealed weapon. Concealed weapons on college campuses would serve the right of protecting the carrier, and other innocent victims.…

The argument toward allowing guns on campus could be that allowing more guns on campus could create a possible mass-shootings because people have more access towards guns and bringing them on campus, but however because of this there could be students who have no want to cause a mass shooting instead they want to protect themselves, and other classmates from a possibly dangerous individual. When a shooter enter campus a “good people find themselves in what he calls “ the dark place”,confronted by the imminent terror of a gun-wielding homicidal maniac, the picture becomes clear”,a piece of paper,a sign that says gun free zone or a federal gun law won 't protect us from being murder instead the best protection is a “prepared and brave defender with the proper lifesaving tool-a gum”(Wheeler 619-620).A way to prevent the mass-shootings from increasing because of they allow guns on campus would be to install programs that show who is carrying a gun,if they legally purchased it,do they have a history of violence?,should they carry a gun because of their criminal record even if it may not be a violent and if not then they will not be allowed to carry one legally on campus. This protocol would be used to make sure that we don 't have the wrong people carry guns because those people may be the ones to attack the school,so instead we allow a majority of the guns to carried by the good students as well as the professors. Even with these protocols, we cannot completely end…
