Regulations and Gun rights for college campuses is something that has many people questioning the laws. The legislative passing a law allowing college employees and students to carry guns is not the greatest idea. All college students shouldn’t be allowed to carry hand guns. The law should remain as keeping concealed licenses then traversing into open-carry license. There’s a great debate on rather teachers should have the right to be armed which in my opinion could lead to a negative impact. The state shorting the training to obtain a handgun permit is not the smartest choice. A great amount of training, comes great responsibility which is needed in dangers situations.
No student should be allowed to carry a handgun on a campus with unarmed civilians. Allowing students to carry guns comes with great negativity. Some students are not mentally stable enough to carry gun. Others many not know how to handle a gun in a situation of great danger. Due to these two cons, the Texas legislature should rethink passing a law allowing students to carry guns on college campus. Although carrying a gun can be used in self-defense, that student might not have been trained on how to use and take action the right way in an event.
