Compare And Contrast Razor Club And Dollar Shave

From a historical stand point, both Burma-Shave and Dollar Shave Club share many similarities. Though they were created at two different times, both companies were made based off of necessities. They both came out with creative ways to get their business better known, quickly. To compare, both companies came up with extremely creative ways to get stuck in your head. In contrast, Dollar Shave Club went viral via the internet and Burma-Shave had to go with the word of mouth method in the literal sense.

Burma-Shave reached their target audience by getting them to remember their “jingles” and by getting customers to come up with their own. You know they would be remembered because every “jingle” ended with the name of the company. This was effective because in that time period because it was a time where traveling was the thing to do and finding these billboards made the trips more fun. Dollar Shave Club reached their target audience by coming up with a comedic video that they knew would appeal to many different types of humor. They knew that it would get shared all over social media and it was effective because of the amount of views and members they have. To put it simply, the proof is in the pudding.

The reason why is because this company knew that razors were expensive and wanted to make them more affordable by making razors that would cost one dollar plus two-dollar shipping and handling. It’s groundbreaking because it made name brand companies rethink about their prices for a while, especially since after a short time of Dollar Shave Club’s video, they got a high amount of orders and
