Google has used different market segmentation schemes over time and provide businesses with software to help them segment a market. Google has a wide variety of users located worldwide. The range of Google products are available to users in more than 110 languages and continuously increasing (Slideshare, 2010). It is very difficult however to pinpoint the true demographics. Google is available virtually everywhere with an array of diverse product line and user base. Studies have found that the value of target marketing has been realized by business technology firms as more than 90 per cent of them know that customers ' characteristics, needs and wants differ (Weinstein, 2014). Target market is the segment of qualified and available market that businesses decide to pursue (Kotler & Keller, 2014). There are companies that choose to have several marketing programs directed at multiple market segments. However, approximately half of the businesses are successful with this approach, which mean that the other half is felling. Thus, is why it is important to identify a business’s target market so that they can best serve and advertise directly to their real customers. Businesses and marketers must ask themselves certain questions when identifying their target market. Question such as follow better help met the needs and wants of the consumer. What are we selling, and what makes it so distinctive? To whom are we selling the product? Why should people buy the product or service from the company? When businesses have the answers to those questions, less time is required to locate the group of consumers targeted and businesses and marketers can better create target-marketing …show more content…
