Millions of people get the flu every year. That is why the Center for Disease Control has worked so hard to make ads and fundraisers to promote the flu shot. The flu shot may not be one thousand percent virus proof, but it does reduce the risk of getting sick by alot. In order to catch someones eye, the ad needs to appeal to a number of different audiences. And a good way that is done is by appealing to emotion. That is very easily done by using things or celebrities that people have a connection with. That is a really great slogan because who doesnt like happiness? By using such a general saying, the ad can really appeal to anyone over the age of 10. the ad uses pathos, (emotion) to grab the viewers attention. People like to be happy and not sick, so the ad uses a feeling people love and pretty much ask a 'would you rather' question. "Would you rather be happy or get the flu"?
