There was a liquor store or convenience store on every street corner as well as various fast food chains. This observation can alert the Community health nurse to assess the nutritional status and alcohol intake of members in the community to determine if it is a community health problem. The street signs and traffic lights were in working order, and traffic was slightly congested near freeway entrances and exits. The primary mode of transportation was by private cars, however some people used public transportation. The environment was quiet with no major construction taking place. The homeless community was present outside of various liquor stores, the local park, and alleyways which appeared unkempt with inadequate lighting.
