I am not the same woman I was 20 years ago. In the past, my communication style inventory would find me in the Controller/Director category. After college, I served 20 years in management before I enrolled into the education department. As a manager, delegating work, problem solving, trouble shooting and maintaining quality was consistent and mandatory part of my existence. I displayed little interest in the people who worked for me and supported the companies vision. My job description required me to hire my staff, train, and if necessary terminate employees. My only concern was accomplishing the objectives that were placed before me. People were treated as collateral pawns. The only thing that mattered to me was profit. Needless to say, upper level managers of the company used intimidation tactics as a means of policing lower level managers. I was a lonely, money worshiper, and self centered
