Professionalism is a huge word composed of small acts.

It’s not been a long time since I graduated from college and just 2 months ago when I signed my contract to this company. There are lots of changes since then. I was the “I-don’t-care-as-long-as-I-passed” person, the rule unto myself, I am the “go have fun as there is time”, I am just representing “me”.

I was overwhelmed when I got hired by this company, I mean, first job ever! , and I know keeping my old act together in this work place will do no good, because the moment I signed my contract was the moment I realized that it is just not me, I am representing the “company”.

I was the “say what you want you want to say” back then, and now you need to be sensitive on everyone. You should practice respect to everyone and be polite in your speech and body language.

I learn to differentiate personal to work-related problems, not to get lonely when I was crying back on my home, not to get angry when I was furious before I tap my I.D. on the turn style and so many emotions I keep in because it was not just me, I am part of the team and no matter how small your act is, it will and always will affect the workflow of the business. There is only one thing I didn’t left outside the building, it is happiness. Happy persons make good production. Smiling is not that hard and making a place light is better to have than a workspace full a void air.

Manulife Financial is a world name in insurance field, and I don’t want to stain a name by some unprofessional act. When I signed my contract, I am fully aware that I am committed. I have realized to realize the sensitivity of the work I represent. Every act I did with the company’s name on it reflects to business. It is hundred of years that have passed before this company started and having people’s trust is a hard earned work from the people catapulted the business.
