Many health care organisations think a monthly meeting and occasional team away day is sufficient to ensure a healthy team; the challenge between the doctors in City Medical Centre tells otherwise. The physicians from Gastroenterology and Surgery Department failed to understand, believe in and work towards a shared measurable goal from lack of openness and trust compromising productivity at work. Where health care providers work in multidisciplinary teams and with different professional goals sometimes makes it impossible to establish a sense of common purpose resulting to clashes. Knowing health care is an extremly demanding profession, numerous problems within a close working team can occur.
