I never wanted to go to college. I never thought college was for me, and I knew I would never be able to afford it. My mother is the only one in our family that had graduated from college with an associate’s degree. My older siblings and my father never went to college, so it never peaked my interest. I never desired to be anything more than a high school graduate that floats from job to job, I never desired having a stable career. Everything changed in2013. I married my husband and I became a mother to our beautiful daughter. The first moment I held her my life changed forever. It was then that I realized I wanted to be an OB nurse and bring happiness to mothers such as myself. I graduated IBMC College in May 2015 with my associates’ degree in Medical Assisting, yet I still yearned to continue my education and earn my dream Bachelor’s degree in nursing through Colorado Christian University. I am intrigued by the way this University made God such a huge part of my education. I know Colorado Christian University will give me the education I desire, and through the process, bring me closer to God as well. Colorado Christian University is one of the top ranked colleges in the nation, and I dream to be a part of that success in education and success in the Christian community. Being in the health care field as a medical assistant, I’ve realized in so many different ways how God touches everyone’s lives in different ways. He brings us all together, whether it be through blessings and miracles or tragedy and loss. God gave us each other to laugh and heal through him.
