There is nothing more important in the life of a Christian than sharing his or her faith in Jesus Christ. This is what the Christian life is about. God created us to glorify Him. The meaning of life is to honor, obey, and glorify God. As we focus on God, and glorify Him, our joy will be made complete. As John Piper famously says, “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.” Not only were we created to give God the glory He rightly deserves, but we were saved to live for His glory on a daily basis (cf. 1 Cor. 6:20). One of the greatest ways Christians can glorify God is by proclaiming His name.” a Christian will live the most fulfilled life when he or she is concentrated on the salvation of those who do not know the Lord Jesus Christ. Christians should be concerned about the lost and how they can reach the lost for the Lord Jesus Christ. Reaching those who do not know Christ can be done through both local and global missions. This paper will establish a biblical and theological basis for global missions. God has revealed Himself both in the Old Testament and the New Testament as a missionary God.
